The Roborock Qrevo MaxV occupies an interesting middle ground. Released in April 2024, it slots between the standard Qrevo Pro and the flagship Qrevo Master, offering premium features without demanding flagship prices. What sets it apart? A built-in voice assistant called “Hello Rocky,” RGB camera-based obstacle avoidance, and an extending mop arm that reaches into corners.

By late 2025, the Qrevo MaxV has technically been overtaken by newer models like the Qrevo Master and the Curv/Edge series. But if you’ve got mixed flooring, want smart mopping, and prefer voice control without paying top dollar, it remains genuinely competitive—especially when discounted.

Cleaning Hardware

The Qrevo MaxV delivers 7,000 Pa of suction through a single all-rubber floating brush. That “floating” design means the brush adjusts to floor height, and it lifts automatically during mop-only cycles so you’re not dragging a wet brush through dirt.

One thing to note: this single-roller setup isn’t quite as resistant to hair tangles as the dual-roller “DuoRoller” system on the Qrevo Master. If you’ve got long-haired family members or pets, you’ll want to check the brush weekly. The anti-tangle design helps, but hair still wraps around the axle ends over time.

A standard spinning side brush handles edges—nothing fancy, no extension capabilities.

How It Sees the World

LiDAR handles the main navigation and mapping work, while an RGB camera paired with structured light tackles obstacle avoidance. The system recognizes over 62 object types: shoes, cords, pet waste, toys. When cleaning in dim rooms, a built-in LED fill light helps the camera see.

Real-world performance? The camera definitely outperforms laser-only models at spotting flat objects like socks and cables. Expect it to dodge shoes and toys about 90% of the time. Thin cables and small pet accidents get avoided roughly 60-70% of the time—so you’ll still want to do a quick pickup before letting it run.

Four cliff sensors keep it from tumbling down stairs.

Battery and Runtime

A 5,200 mAh battery powers everything. On Quiet mode, expect up to 180 minutes of cleaning. Switch to Normal or Balanced mode and that drops to around 150 minutes. Under ideal conditions, it can cover roughly 3,200 square feet on a single charge.

Fast charging brings it from empty to full in about 4 hours.

Noise Levels

Quiet mode runs at just 39-45 dB—barely audible over a normal conversation. Crank suction to maximum and you’re looking at 63-65 dB. The self-emptying cycle hits 80+ dB during its 15-30 second dust transfer, so maybe don’t schedule that at 2 AM.

Where Mopping Shines

This is where the Qrevo MaxV really earns its keep. The dual spinning mops rotate at 200 RPM, and one of them—thanks to FlexiArm design—extends outward to clean within 2mm of edges and corners. That’s a noticeable improvement over fixed-mop robots that leave dirty strips along baseboards.

When the robot detects carpet, the mops lift 10mm and stay there. A small 80ml internal tank feeds the mops electronically, automatically refilling from the dock between cleaning passes.

The dock washes those mop pads in 60°C (140°F) water—hot enough to break down grease and dried coffee. Sensors in the dock actually analyze how dirty the wash water looks. If the mops are still grimy, it rewashes them and sends the robot back to re-mop the problematic area.

After washing, warm air drying at 45°C takes about 2-4 hours to prevent mildew.

The “Hello Rocky” Voice System

Here’s something you don’t see on most robot vacuums: built-in voice control that works offline. You can say “Hello Rocky, clean the kitchen” or “Hello Rocky, wash the mop” without needing Alexa, Google Assistant, or even an internet connection. The processing happens right on the robot.

This feature is exclusive to the MaxV and Master lines in Roborock’s lineup.

App Capabilities

The Roborock app offers quick mapping that builds a floor plan in about 10 minutes without actually cleaning. It stores up to 4 floor levels.

Carpet handling options include vacuuming first then mopping, boosting suction on carpet, or avoiding carpet entirely—useful if you’ve just cleaned your rugs with something else.

Privacy-conscious users should know the robot takes photos of obstacles it avoids, but you can disable this. There’s also a “Video Call” feature for remote viewing, though video streams over the internet when active. Pet owners get “Pet Snaps” and a “Search for Pet” button if they want to keep tabs on their animals.

The Dock

Roborock calls it the “Multifunctional Dock 2.0,” and it handles four jobs automatically:

  1. Auto-Empty: A 2.7L dust bag collects debris, lasting about 7 weeks between changes
  2. Auto-Wash: Hot water mop cleaning at 60°C
  3. Auto-Refill: Tops up the robot’s internal water tank
  4. Auto-Dry: Warm air drying to prevent musty mop pads

The dock holds 4 liters of clean water and 3.5 liters of dirty water. A removable base tray makes rinsing easy—a genuine improvement over the original Qrevo design.

Real-World Performance

Hard floors: Excellent. Those spinning mops handle dried-on stains like coffee and juice with relative ease, and the FlexiArm extension makes a visible difference in corners.

Carpet: Good, though not best-in-class. The single rubber brush doesn’t pull up deep-embedded pet hair as effectively as the dual-roller S8 or Qrevo Master. For thick carpets with heavy shedding pets, you might want something more powerful.

Navigation: The RGB camera genuinely helps with flat obstacles that confuse laser-only robots. It’s not perfect—users report it occasionally tangles with phone chargers—but it’s a meaningful step up from non-camera models.

Maintenance Costs

Mop Pads3-6 months$20 for 2 pairs
Side Brush3-6 months$15 for 2-pack
Main Brush6-12 months$25 each

Weekly upkeep means rinsing the dock tray (takes 2 minutes). Monthly, wipe down sensors and check the main brush for wrapped hair. Swap the dust bag every couple of months.

Pick the Qrevo MaxV if you want the camera, remote viewing, and built-in voice control without paying flagship prices.

Pick the Qrevo Master instead if you have pets that shed heavily (dual rollers handle pet hair much better) or you demand complete corner coverage from both vacuuming and mopping.

What Could Be Better

The vacuum’s side brush doesn’t extend, so debris deep in corners can get missed during vacuuming—even though mopping reaches those spots. Cable avoidance, while better than non-camera models, isn’t foolproof. And for deep-pile carpets with embedded pet hair, you’ll find dual-roller robots or traditional uprights outperform the Qrevo MaxV.
